What is Whole30?

Created in 2009 by Melissa Hartwig, the Whole30 is a 30-day reset for your health, habits, and relationship with food. The program has helped millions of people conquer their cravings, restore a healthy metabolism, improve their digestion, and reduce inflammation in just 30 days, by teaching them how to create their own perfect diet and discover lasting food freedom.

“Most diets are spent white-knuckling your way through deprivation, restriction, hunger, tuning out your body’s signals, and obsessing over tracking and weighing your food.” - Founder Melissa Hartwig

The 30 Bird doesn’t think that type of behavior is sustainable, and if you’ve ever tried dieting, you probably agree. It’s not a “diet”, it’s about your diet:

  • You don’t have to track calories,

  • You don’t have to feel hungry,

  • You don’t have to keep track of a meticulous points system,

  • You don’t have to weigh yourself.

In fact, with the exception of day 1 & day 30, you’re not even supposed to weigh yourself. Of course we won’t deny that sliding into your usually-too-tight jeans on week three will feel pretty good, the focus of Whole30 is feeling better overall with an emphasis on Non-Scale Victories [NSV].
